Paul is an experienced public, regulatory and commercial litigator. He advises and acts on a broad range of commercial and public law matters, with a particular focus on competition law, economic regulation and other complex regulatory regimes. His practice covers a broad range of sectors, including energy, telecommunications, financial services, health, groceries and fuel.
Paul is also a contributing author to Public International Law: A New Zealand Perspective, and has experience in advising clients on matters related to international law and cross-border disputes, including in relation to jurisdictional and choice of law issues, and enforcement of foreign judgments.
Before joining Cuncannon, Paul was a partner at Wynn Williams following almost seven years at Meredith Connell, and several years seconded to the Commerce Commission.
Paul is a member of the Arbitrators’ and Mediators’ Institute of New Zealand and the Competition Law and Policy Institute of New Zealand. He sits on a New Zealand Law Society Standards Committee.
